Lindisfarne

Lindisfarne was the site of the first Viking raid on England in the year 793

At the end of July, more than a hundred Viking raiders invaded again (although this time we were invited).

The ruins of Lindisfarne Priory provided a superb backdrop for both the extensive living history encampment featuring a variety of craftsmen, and re-enactments of one of the later Viking raids.
