Here are some of the recent events where you may have seen members of The Vikings.

Sun 5 September:
Boston Manor Park, Brentford (Small Event)

Brentford Festival, 12 noon to 5.30pm. This is a local community fun-day for charity. Entrance is free. With a small LH encampment plus a couple of arena shows - weapons displays etc.

Sat 4 - Sun 5 September:
Largs, North Ayrshire (Major Event)

Battle of Largs Re-enactment 7.30pm Largs North Ayrshire. 1263 The last Viking invasion on mainland Britain!

Sat 21 - Sun 22 August:
Lanark Racecourse, Lanark (Small Event)

Re-enactment of the Battle of Mortlach 1010. King Malcolm 2nd against the Danes.

Sat 14 - Sun 15 August:
Tithe Barn, Abbotsbury, Nr Weymouth, Dorset (Small Event)

Show is 10am- 5pm each day. There will be a show & tell, skirmish, kiddie vike and a main battle at 3pm. See how the vikings/saxon lived at the encampment and see the great army of Wessex defeat the Viking invaders.

Sun 8 August:
Ginpit Village Green, Greater Manchester (Medium Event)

A Relaxed Family Fun Day This annual event is to support the Ginpit villiage green. The Vikings will be the centre of the entertainment for the day, with a Village and Arena Events.

Burghead, NE Scotland (Small Event)

Picnic with the Picts.

Sat 17 - Sun 18 July:
Archeolink Living History Park, Oyne, NE Scotland (Small Event)

Viking skirmishes and living history.

Sat 17 - Sun 18 July:
Bedford River Festival (Major Event)

Anniversary of the Sacking of Bedford in 1009/1010. The show is at Bedford Castle mound in town centre and will run alongside the River festival which is an annual event. To Include Living History encampment on and around the castle mound, a Viking river raid and Battle in front of the mound.

Sat 17 July:
St Nicholas CE Primary School, Porton, Wilts. (Small Event)

Village Fair with Viking camp and battle, plus Kidie Vike and Hrothgars Saga.

Sun 4 July:
Brafield on the Green, Northants. (Small Event)

Northamptonshires County Show, large showground event with lots of displays going on throughout the day. There will be a LHE with the usual crafts taking place. Also two arena spots during the day. Makes a great family day out with plenty to do.

Sat 3 - Sun 4 July:
Dufftown, NE Scotland (Small Event)

Battle of Morlach 1010 - King Malcolm the 2nd against the Danes. The battle took place near the Giant s Chair and the monastery of Mortlach.

Sat 26 - Sun 27 June:
Ruthin Castle & Town, NE Wales (Small Event)

Ruthin Castle and Town Medieval Fayre. A two day Multi-period Medieval event with various medieval re-enactment groups taking part. Cwmwd Ial will be covering the 11th century period re-enacting the campaigns of Prince Gruffydd ap Cynan against the Normans. Living History encampments and skirmishes both days. Also jousting and 15th century battle (Owain Glyndwrs siege of Ruthin).

Sat 12 - Sun 13 June:
Hale Village, Merseyside (Major Event)

The annual carnival at Hale in Merseyside has booked the Vikings for a major event to re-enact the battle of Brunanburh.

Sun 30 - Mon 31 May:
Rhuddlan Castle, Rhuddlan, NE Wales (Medium Event)

Rhuddlan Heritage Society with the support of CADW are staging a celebration of the events that took place in the year 1075 AD. The conflict between the Norman Lord Robert of Rhuddlan (a veteran of the Battle of Hastings) and the Welsh Prince, Gryffydd ap Cynan. Over the Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday & Monday) you will be able visit both the Anglo-Norman and Welsh/Viking encampments. The Battle finale, on both days, will see the Anglo-Norman army take up defence on the original battlefield site at Twt Hill Motte & Bailey. Prince Gruffydd will then march his Welsh/Viking army out of the Edwardian Castle to give battle.

Sat 8 - Sun 9 May:
Marbury, Nr Whitchurch, Cheshire (Small Event)

Marbury Merry Days show. The Vikings are the main attraction for this two day show. Show is open from 12.30 until 5.00pm with two 30-40 minute arena slots, plus Living History and possible Kiddie Vike.

Sat 1 - Mon 3 May:
Corfe Castle, Corfe, Dorset (Medium Event)

There will be a L.H.E, witness the kings court & how justice is served, a skirmish, training of the fryd including Kiddie Vik. The year 876AD & the battle of King Alfred & Guthrum at Wareham. Gates open at 10am -5pm each day.

Sat 24 - Sun 25 April:
Wrest Park, Silsoe, Beds., (Small Event)

A weekend of St Georges day celebrations. Multi period show, with lots to see and do. There will be an Anglo Saxon village, along with a number of arena display s including the now locally well know kiddie vike.

Sat 24 April:
Royton & Crompton School Oldham (Small Event)

St George s Day family fun day with the local community, featuring the Vikings. 1pm to 5pm, admission free.

Sat 24 April:
Excel Centre, Docklands, London (Small Event)

Members of The Vikings will be staging a display at Salute in 2010. Combat and Living History will be on view.
