This is a list of confirmed society events (excluding school visits), where you can see battle re-enactments and demonstrations of dark age crafts and everyday life. The dates given are the actual dates of the events (i.e. the dates that the events are open to the public).

Living history and combat demonstration at the Tolkien Weekend, Sarehole Mill (The Shire Country Park), Birmingham.

Sat 7 - Sun 8 June:
Corfe Castle (Medium Event)

Corfe Castle, Dorset. Owned by the National Trust, Corfe Castle is one of the most evocative ruined castles in England. With over 1,000 years of turbulent history the Castle and surrounding area is steeped in Viking and Saxon treachery, intrigue and battles. Join us for combat, crafts and living history demonstrations.

Archaeolink Prehistory Park, Living History in Aberdeenshire.

Sat 21 - Sun 22 June:
Cressing Temple (Major Event)

Major event at Cressing Temple, Braintree, Essex. Details to follow.

Sat 28 - Sun 29 June:
Oldham (Medium Event)

Oldham Carnival, Alexandra Park, Oldham, Lancashire. Living history and combat.

Sat 5 July:
Bradwell on Sea (Small Event)

St Peter s Chapel, Bradwell on Sea, Essex. St Peter s Chapel is a 7th Century Saxon Church on the Essex Coast, possibly the oldest church in England. It is built from the remains of a Roman Fort, and every year an Ecumenical pilgrimage is made to the Site. As part of the festivities this is a living history only event (no combat) portraying Anglo Saxon family life in the 7th Century reenacting the arrival of St Cedd & his Monks to Essex and their greeting by Sigbert King of the East Saxons & his entourage.

Sat 19 - Sun 20 July:
Kelmarsh Hall (Major Event)

English Heritage Festival Of History. Large multi-period event at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire.

Sat 26 - Sun 27 July:
Heckington Village Show (Small Event)

Heckington Village Show, Lincolnshire

Billed as the largest Village Show in England, they average 20,000 through the gates. We will be presenting a Living History Encampment and combat displays, including one display in the main arena on Saturday and others throughout Saturday and Sunday in the Heritage Arena.

Burghead (Small Event)

Living history and two skirmishes. Vikings Vs Picts.

Sat 2 - Sun 3 August:
Amlwch (Major Event)

A large living history encampment, major battles, and a boat burning on Saturday evening. The Amlwch Viking Festival is held every other year, and gets bigger and better every time. Photos from previous events are available in our Amlwch 2002 and Amlwch 2004 galleries.

Sat 16 - Sun 17 August:
Lanark (Major Event)

The Lanark Medieval Society presents a show featuring both Vikings and Medieval re-enactors at Lanark Racecourse, Lanark, Scotland.

Sat 30 August - Fri 5 September:
Largs Promenade (Small Event)

Viking Village on the promenade as part of the Largs Viking Festival. Opening Parade, Skirmishes and School visits all week.

Sat 6 - Sun 7 September:
Largs (Major Event)

Largs, Scotland. Saturday features a large skirmish on the promenade and a huge battle in the evening at a local landmark known as "The Pencil", rounded out with a burning longboat, fireworks, and fire juggling. Living history and weapons displays can be found in the authentic Viking village on the promenade on both days.

Sat 13 - Sun 14 September:
Stewards Park, Middlesbrough. (Medium Event)

A multi-period event at Stewards Park, Middlesbrough, Teeside. Societies at this event portray all periods of history from Romans and Greeks through to World War II. The Vikings will have two arena events each day and a Living history encampment open throughout the weekend.
